Workflow

A workflow is a defined sequence of steps and automated actions that execute when specific conditions are met. In marketing and sales, workflows automate repetitive processes to ensure consistency and save time.

Workflow Components

  • Trigger: What starts the workflow (form submission, tag added, date reached)
  • Conditions: Logic that determines the path (if/then/else)
  • Actions: What happens at each step (send email, wait, update field, notify team)
  • Timing: Delays between actions (wait 2 days, wait until Tuesday at 10am)

Common Workflows

  • New lead follow-up sequence
  • Onboarding series for new members
  • Birthday and anniversary campaigns
  • Renewal reminder sequence
  • Win-back campaign for lapsed members
  • Review request after positive interaction
