Geo-Targeting

Geo-targeting is the practice of delivering marketing messages or content based on a customer's geographic location. It's especially valuable for multi-location businesses that need to promote location-specific offers, events, and services.

How Geo-Targeting Works

Geo-targeting uses IP addresses, GPS data, or stored address information to determine a customer's location and deliver relevant content. This can happen in real-time (mobile push when near a location) or based on stored data (email promoting their nearest branch).

Use Cases

  • Promote events at the customer's nearest location
  • Send weather-triggered campaigns (e.g., "rainy day special")
  • Personalize website content by region
  • Target ads to specific zip codes or radiuses
  • Send location-specific offers and promotions
