Funnel
A funnel is a model that represents the stages a prospect moves through on their way to becoming a customer. It's called a funnel because the number of people decreases at each stage — many enter at the top, fewer convert at the bottom.
Typical Funnel Stages
- Awareness: Prospect learns about your brand
- Interest: They engage with content or visit your website
- Consideration: They evaluate your offering vs. alternatives
- Intent: They take a high-intent action (request info, start trial)
- Conversion: They become a paying customer
Optimizing Your Funnel
Measure conversion rates between each stage to identify where prospects drop off. Then apply targeted strategies — better ads for awareness, faster follow-up for intent, stronger offers for conversion — to improve flow through each stage.
