Pipeline
A pipeline is a visual representation of where prospects and deals are in your sales process. It's typically displayed as a kanban board with columns representing each stage, from initial inquiry through to closed/won.
Common Pipeline Stages
- New Inquiry: Lead just came in
- Contacted: First outreach made
- Qualified: Confirmed as a good fit
- Trial/Tour Scheduled: Next step booked
- Trial Completed: They've experienced your offering
- Proposal/Offer: Pricing or membership presented
- Won: Converted to paying customer
- Lost: Did not convert (with reason)
Why Pipelines Matter
Without a pipeline, leads fall through the cracks. A well-managed pipeline gives you visibility into your sales funnel, helps forecast revenue, identifies bottlenecks, and ensures every prospect gets the follow-up they need.
